The diamond serves as Alpha Delta Pi’s official symbol, with its four points representing the development of character and personality, thoughtful attitudes toward others, a commitment to high educational standards, and the importance of faith and loyalty. Our mascot, Alphie the lion, reflects the strength, courage, and integrity that define our sisterhood. Azure blue and white are the official colors of Alpha Delta Pi. Blue represents friendship, the foundation of our organization, while white stands for sincerity and truth. Guided by our motto, “We live for each other,” members continue to build a legacy rooted in connection, growth, and genuine sisterhood.
The Alpha Psi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi traces its roots back to 1919, when Delta Pi was founded as a local sorority by Hazel Ross and Martha Bare. Known early on for strong leadership, academic excellence, and campus involvement, the group quickly built a meaningful presence within the university community. With the support of Alpha Delta Pi National President Irene P. Smith, Delta Pi was officially installed as the Alpha Psi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi in September of 1925, connecting its legacy to a national sisterhood grounded in character, scholarship, and lifelong friendship.
Today, Alpha Psi continues to be an active and driven presence on campus, with members leading across student organizations, academics, and community initiatives while building genuine, lasting sisterhood. Located at 814 W 28th Street, our chapter house serves as a place where members come together to grow, support one another, and live out the values of Alpha Delta Pi every day.
